Ellie Davidson Senior Regional Play Consultant

“I advocate for meaningful play experiences that support learning, development and connection. No two days are ever the same - and that’s what I love most! What truly fills my cup is connecting with others and witnessing those ‘penny drop’ moments when people understand the depth and value of play. I thrive on the variety, shifting between roles as educator, learner and colleague. You can never stop learning, and the richness comes from those living and breathing this work every day. Seeing the impact happening across our regions gives real purpose to the work we do.”

  • Sector Engagement, Marketing and Communications

Developing a system of partner organisations to deliver our collective goals. The five teams in this unit are: Partnerships, Marketing and Communications, Conferences and Business Support, Business Capability and Major Events.

  • Strategy, Policy and Investment

Overseeing and reporting on Sport NZ’s strategies, while advising on all matters relating to play, active recreation and sport. This business unit also handles ministerial servicing, spaces and places and cross-government relationships.

Wayne Delos Reyes: Service Desk Engineer

"As a Service Desk Engineer, I’m the first point of contact for technical support, helping ensure our systems and people stay up and running smoothly. Kickstarting my career at Sport NZ gave me the opportunity to enter the workforce early. I started during my final trimester at Victoria University, working in the office during the day and heading to campus from 3pm. It’s been a great way to apply what I was learning in real time within a professional environment.”
